ISAN Book Review

Quite a while ago, I received the book ISAN from NetGalley. This book is written by Mary Ting. The expected publishing date is May 1st, 2018. I got a free kindle version of this book in exchange for an honest review.

The book follows Ava, an assassin held in ISAN. ISAN stands for International Sensory Assassins Network, what they do, is they inject kids that have certain special genes with a serum called Helix22B. What Helix22B, or just Helix, does is it boosts all senses. Touch, smell, taste, strength, etc. It makes them more nimble and faster, and in some rarer cases, people can generate things like maps in their mind. They train the kids with mental missions, basically a VR game except the object is to train someone for war. When Ava and her team is assigned one of the most dangerous missions, she will not only have to succeed but survive the things she learned that ISAN wants to keep hidden.

This was a pretty good book. There were so more dry parts, but definitely not many. The majority of the book was pretty action-packed and lots of twists and turns in the story and combat was written really well too. Although a fair bit of dialogue wasn't written too well. By that I mean it didn't seem very real. For the most part though, the story was wonderfully written and I definitely recommend it.
