Asteria: Into the Fray was about an eighteen-year-old girl named Asteria. She was tragically orphaned at twelve when her parents were killed in a car crash and were on the streets for a year until her uncle took her in. When you start to read through, she has moved out and is living in her parent's old house, although isn't in it at the time. She is at the top of a tall bridge, done with life and ready to end it. Luckily, she is stopped by her Guardian Angel, Micah. He saves her right before she jumps and clears her mind from the murk of depression. Then he disappears. Later, a few chapters in, she finds out she is not fully human, and because of her genealogy is engaged in a war against evil.
I definitely recommend this book. It was very good, although it was very fast paced, almost too fast-paced. There are some romantic scenes that I did not favor, but I did enjoy the rest of the book. It was well written and interesting too. Like I said, there was some romance so it may not be appropriate for younger audiences, but the majority of the book it was without and I definitely think it is worth the read.
